Alaskan Baseball was in our plan for that day but as we approached the field, we realized that we did not have a rubber chicken, ball or anything appropriate for a game of Alaskan Baseball. All we did have was a deck of cards. Since that afternoon I have played this game dozens of times and I must say that it has proven to be very versatile. I have played in gymnasiums, classroom, wood spaces as well as open playing fields. You can play with fewer people or with a large crowd and the card as a prop adds some interesting strategy components that I never got with a rubber chicken and Alaskan baseball.
Vegas baseball is played by 2 teams who alternate being up to bat and fielding. When a team is up to bat, instead of throwing a rubber chicken or some other object, the team throws a deck of cards. The fielding team then has to collect and sort the deck as quickly as possible to stop the batting team from scoring points. Try your luck with this high energy warm up game that will surprise you with an added layer of strategy.
