This workshop is appropriate for any educator, upper elementary to high school, interested in strategies to develop connected learning communities. The foundation of the content in this one day workshop comes from High 5’s Edge of Leadership program core philosophy that connected classrooms and school communities foster healthy learning environments for youth and for adults.
You will explore the fundamental theories as well as intentionally sequenced activities illustrating how and why we promote connections.
This workshop will include:
- Experiment with the process of creating and maintaining supportive learning spaces for sharing, risk taking, inclusion, and awareness building.
- Experience a collection of activities to promote authentic connections between students and their peers as well as with teachers.
- Explore the components and impacts of a connected classroom and learning community.
- Uncover opportunities in your classroom that can nurture relationships and build awareness.
