QUINCY ‒ Recent visitors to Mound Street Beach in Quincy Point may puzzle over a number of tall poles on the green overlooking Town River Bay.
This fall, a web of ropes, nets and other features will connect those poles to form an aerial obstacle course designed for middle and high schoolers.
Behind the project is the city’s Natural Resources Department, headed by Dave Murphy, who secured $350,000 in Community Preservation funds this spring to build the course.
Named the “Quincy Challenge Course,” the facility intends to bolster youth programming, giving teens and pre-teens a fun way to build confidence, develop leadership skills and foster teamwork, Murphy said.
